The San Antonio Spurs will be without wing Devin Vassell indefinitely after he undergoes knee surgery next week. Vassell has been dealing with some knee soreness and will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee sometime next week. It is unclear when he will be able to return and will largely depend on when he is able to resume basketball activities without pain. The exact date for his surgery is currently set for January 11th and will be taking place in New York. Vassell was in the middle of a breakout season for the San Antonio Spurs.

So far this season with the San Antonio Spurs, Devin Vassell is averaging 19.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He has paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 44.5 percent and a three-point percentage of 40.4 percent. In a statement about the injury the Spurs provided the following: “The team will provide updates on his return to the court as appropriate.” With an overall record of 12-26, the Spurs are second from the bottom in the Western Conference Standings. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Vassell the best in his recovery and eventual return to the basketball court.
