The Detroit Mercy Titans have not been invited to the 2023 CBI which means their college basketball season is officially over. With this decision, it means the college basketball career of Antonie Davis has also officially come to an end. The star guard will end his career just four points shy of breaking the all-time NCAA scoring record set by Pistol Pete Maravich back during the 1969-70 college basketball season. While the CBI did imply earlier in March that they could invite the Titans when the field was released the team was not in the field.
After all that chatter, Detroit Mercy is *not* in the 16-team CBI field.

The Detroit Mercy Titans finish their season with an overall record of 14-19 with a horizon league record of 9-11. In his five-year college basketball career, Antoine Davis averaged 25.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. While he did not break the all-time NCAA scoring record, he did come closer than anyone since Pistol Pete broke the record in 1969-70. His electric college basketball career is over, but with professional leagues all over the world, it is doubtful that he is done playing basketball. The Titans will surely one day honor him for his career with the program.
