Tamarindo is located on the Pacific Coast in the province of Guanacaste. Tamarindo’s beautiful beach and saltwater estuary attract both couples and families. Tamarindo offers its visitors scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, horseback riding & much more.

Kevin Pozuelos, a recent visitor, stayed at the Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort and highly suggests you consider it for your next visit. The resort, although not all-inclusive, is one of the top hotels on the Tamarindo beach strip with 3 pools, access to the beach, wet bars and very friendly staff.
Travelers staying in Tamarindo can access all the town’s amenities on foot. If you plan on exploring the surrounding beaches you can rent a car at the airport or rent a bike in town to get around. Taxi cabs around Tamarindo are also available. If none of those options suit you don’t forget there are three public bus lines available in Tamarindo. When to visit & things to do
If you are looking for a vacation away from the busy city, you will probably enjoy Tamarindo during its off season which includes August. Kevin said that although there aren’t many people around, there are many bars and lounges on the strip. During this time, Tamarindo is not a party town.
Even during off season, the town prides itself in great local ambiance, excursions, and scenery. If you are willing to travel, Kevin suggests tours to Monte Verde for an adrenaline rush zip lining through the forest. If you are more about relaxing in beautiful beaches you can head to Manuel Antonio for its beautiful beach or to Playa Conchal.
If you are a fan of sushi and dancing, make sure you visit Bar 1. Pacifico Bar also offers its visitors music provided by a DJ and a reggae dance hall. Patagonia Argentinian Grill is suggested for those looking for great Argentinean food.
