Game 4 of the 2015 NBA Finals is coming up at 9 PM on Thursday, June 11! With Cleveland up 2-1, LeBron James has scored more points through 3 games than any other player in NBA Finals history. With his city and team on his back, oddsmakers are still putting the Cavaliers as the underdog by 2.5 points. History of the NBA Finals does not help that positive hype geared towards the Golden State Warriors.
According to the history of the NBA Finals, as well as CBS Sports’ Matt Moore, the team that is leading after 3 games wins the series 84 percent of the time.
However, Moore also noted that teams have pulled it off in recent years when trailing after Game 3. A great example was the 2013 NBA Finals when the San Antonio Spurs lead the Miami Heat 2-1 and LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Ray Allen sparked the Miami Heat to a Game 7 victory.
Not to mention, LeBron’s first season in Miami ended as Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks put a stop to the Miami Heat’s 2-1 lead and finished the series winning in Game 6 of the 2011 NBA Finals.
Let’s just say that odds are able to be defeated. And basketball is a game of various odds and numbers. With Stephen Curry and LeBron James playing toe to toe, it can’t get much better than this. It appears as if both the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers have some odds in which they are up against.
