Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was criticized for passing on the chance to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl. However, the National Championship winning quarterback said via the Associated Press that he plans to compete every way possible at the combine.
“That’s the plan,” Watson said of the Combine. “Run, throw, meetings, everything.”
Watson is currently projected to get taken somewhere in the first round. Currently, there is a group of 5 quarterbacks that is he battling with. Watson just wants to make sure he puts his best foot forward in Indianapolis.
“I’m hearing that. First round, anywhere in that range, top 10, top five, just depends on what the teams say,” Watson said. “It’s something I can’t control. I just make sure I can control what I can control. Stay positive.
“The height is the height. This is how God made me. My hands are this size. I can’t really control that. I can put on weight and be able to go out there and throw and run and talk in the interviews and my knowledge.”
The biggest concern with Watson was the 17 interceptions he threw during his final year in college. Accuracy will be something all the scouts will be paying attention to.
