As we inch closer towards the opening of the 2018-19 NBA season, the San Antonio Spurs continue to be hammered by key injuries.
Just days after the news of starting point guard Dejounte Murray tearing his ACL, the Spurs have been dealt another blow when it comes to the health of Derrick White. White, a 6-foot-4 guard, will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks due to a heel injury according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

Another devastating injury, Derrick White is now the third San Antonio guard to go down with a major ailment in the past couple weeks. Of course, Murray is sidelined for the season with his ruptured ACL and exciting rookie Lonnie Walker IV will also be out for an extended period due to a torn meniscus.
Though White wasn’t expected to immediately fill in for either Murray or Walker IV, he did appear to be on the verge of holding down some major minutes in a decimated San Antonio backcourt. Now with the second-year man out of the picture as well, the Spurs will have to turn to veteran point guard Patty Mills along with reserves Bryn Forbes and Marco Belinelli.
