The New York Knicks have been a mess this season once again. Their off-court storylines have been the joke of the year while their on-court product has not been much better.
Unlike the past few seasons under Phil Jackson’s front office leadership, the storyline of running the Triangle offense hasn’t been quite as prevalent. That’s partially due to the team’s coaching and partially due to other storylines taking the forefront.
But fear not! Derrick Rose is here to remind you that Jackson is still effectively calling the shots despite not being the head coach, via ESPN.
So has Derrick Rose grown more comfortable with team president Phil Jackson’s preferred offense recently?
“S—, do I have a choice? Do I have a choice?” Rose said to reporters in Philadelphia after the Knicks held a workout there Thursday. “I just want to win games. Winning takes care of every category for an athlete.”
The Triangle has been a cloud hanging over the Knicks since Jackson took the job in the front office and it doesn’t look like it will be going away anytime soon. Rose is probably one of the worst players to be asked to play as a point guard in that system so the frustration is understandable. Lucky for him, he will be a free agent this summer and can go far away from the Triangle offense.
