Last night, Derrick Rose took the court for the Chicago Bulls and put on a show for the Windy City faithful to enjoy. The Bulls star put up 18 points with five assists in Chicago’s season-opening win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
A Pau Gasol block saved the day for the Bulls and sent the fans home happy but early this morning, news came across about some off-court issues concerning the Bulls star.
Before the season started, Derrick Rose was being accused of sexual abuse including a woman accusing Rose of gang raping her with friends which included Rose’s agent. Rose has since denied the claims on multiple occasions but now a report has come out about what the accuser wants from D.Rose.
Following from TMZ Sports.
The accuser in the Derrick Rose rape lawsuit has finally named her price — $21.5 MILLION — this according to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports.
Rose later acknowledged the group sex, but claims it was consensual, and says he engaged in the group sex with the accuser on several previous occasions.
Now, the case is moving forward and the accuser has set her price tag — $6 million in compensatory damages and $15.5 in punitive.
Trial is likely to begin in late 2017.
Now this story continues to look more and more like the accuser just looking to chase Rose for some money as oppose to serving justice.
If the trial is expected to begin in late 2017, that could take place right after Rose gets his new contract, the one that he’s so excited to cash-in on when his time comes. Might not have been the best time for Rose to drop that little nugget during media day.
