It was a 50-50 decision that needed to be made for Deron Williams this off-season, it was either the Brooklyn Nets, or fleeing back to his hometown and signing with the Dallas Mavericks. In the end D. Will chose the Nets, but he says it was Mark Cuban’s absence at a key meeting with Dallas officials that helped play a part in making his mind up. Cuban was on the set of his TV show “Shark Tank” and didn’t attend the July 2nd meeting in New York.
Of course,” Williams said when asked if Cuban’s absence influenced his decision.
“I mean, I think he would have been able to answer some of the questions … a lot of the questions that my agent and I had for him really didn’t get answered that day, pertaining to the future. I think, if he was there, he would have been able to answer those questions a little bit better, [and] maybe would have helped me.”
