Denver is pulling together its resources to clear more salary cap space. Daniels, a long time favorite of head coach Gary Kubiak, spent a number of years together including stops in Houston, Baltimore, and Denver. This move gives the Broncos another $2.5 million in cap space.
Denver also recently released guard Louis Vazquez in an attempt to clear more space. The Broncos have already lost star defensive end Malik Jackson to the Jaguars. The moves could be an attempt to keep quarterback Brock Osweiler.
In 2015 Daniels recorded 46 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns. It appears the team will likely go with Virgil Green as its starting tight end next season.
