The Dallas Mavericks point guard promises to be one of the more intriguing and exciting prospects in his draft class. Before ever playing in an NBA game, he has already raised eyebrows with his staggering vertical and dunking ability.
Smith joins a growing brand in Under Armour. While not a traditional power house like Nike or Adidas, UA has grown with the help of its signature athletes, the most famous of which (at least in the basketball world) is Stephen Curry.
Smith, Jr. is an intriguing prospect for UA for multiple reasons. His aforementioned highlight reel plays will likely make him a star regardless of if he reaches his ceiling or not. But his actual basketball ceiling is quite high, as well, and as many draft pundits have pointed out, he could wind up being one of the best players in the class despite being drafted ninth overall.
This is the first step for Smith to become the star that the Mavericks drafted him to be.
