There were some strange choices for the skills challenge, one of them being Jimmy Butler. Although, being an elite defender and a new scorer, he is not an elite ball handler.
Now according to multiple reports, Jimmy Butler will not play in the Skill Challenge and he will be replace by Dennis Schroder. Jimmy Butler has been battling a shoulder injury, and wanted to play in his first ever All-Star game, so he had to skip out on something.

Dennis Schroder is a MUCH better pick, but he wasn’t the first option either. Jarret Jack was set to replace him, but declined due to his own various injuries. Dennis Schroder will face off against Kyle Lowry in the first round.
