
After a rough offseason for the Atlanta Hawks in which their frontcourt of Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap was decimated along with other key contributors, a lot of responsibility now falls on their guard play. Specifically on starting point guard Dennis Schroder who is now serving as the franchise centerpiece for a Hawks team that is not expected to make much noise this season.
However, now less than a month away from the commencement of the NBA regular season, Schroder will have to sort out some legal issues first. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Schroder was recently arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge in an Atlanta suburb:

Wojnarowski also added that the floor general is not currently being held and has reportedly been released on bail:
Schroder has been released on bail, and Hawks are expected to issue a statement soon, sources tell ESPN.

As a franchise, you never want to see this from anyone associated with your brand, let alone a player like Dennis Schroder who is all of a sudden an integral piece of this team’s future. We’ll see how the rest of Schroder’s legal situation plays out here just weeks ahead of the start of the NBA season.
