Kevin Durant’s decision to head to the Golden State Warriors was obviously the news of the basketball offseason. The clear best free agent decided to take his talents to a team that had previously won 73 games and came within one blown 3-1 lead of winning back-to-back titles.
As expected, Durant’s decision was met with some massive vitriol. Many did not like the fact that he moved on to a rival, a team that had just eliminated him and the Thunder from the playoffs.
As it turns out, the sharpshooter still has plenty of support, even within his peers in the league. The latest player to come to his aid is none other than Kings’ center DeMarcus Cousins, while speaking to ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth about his Team USA teammate:
"Durant is the nicest guy in the League. Will give you the shirt off his back and look at how you guys(media) treat him." DeMarcus Cousins.

Boogie is no stranger to media narratives. He has often been labeled as a selfish whiner, sometimes fairly and sometimes unfairly. He has a point regarding Durant, as well. The story is so good that it has become a question for Durant, his new teammates, and the former ones, at nearly every press conference and post-practice scrum.
That said, the media’s job is to report things, and most have stayed unbiased in that regard. The hate that Kevin Durant has received is mostly through fans and the occasional “old-school” player who is probably lying to make himself look better.
