Two weeks ago, the Mercury News reported that Cousins was targeting a return sometime after Christmas.
In July, Cousins inked a one-year deal worth $5.3 million with the Warriors.
This deal will be a massive steal should Cousins return to even three quarters of what he was prior to tearing his Achilles.
A healthy Cousins is one of the best big men in the world. Last year for the New Orleans Pelicans, Cousins averaged 25.2 points, a career-high 12.9 rebounds and a career-high 5.4 assists per game. In recent years, he has adopted a 3-point shot; last year, he shot 35.4 percent from distance on a career-best 6.1 attempts per game.
