Throughout much of DeMarcus Cousins’ career, he has been known to be a temperamental person. He has not gotten along well with coaches and his hot temper has often gotten him into trouble on the court. The Kings having been a dysfunctional organization during that time has not helped Cousins’ cause.
But it appears that Boogie may have finally found some peace in Sacramento. Before the team’s home opener at the new Golden 1 Center, Cousins addressed the crowd and got emotional. Later, he explained that it was because he now considers the city his home:
DeMarcus Cousins said he got emotional in pregame and had to hand over the mic. Asked if Sacramento is home for him. "Absolutely"-DMC

Cousins has often been placed in trade rumors due to his displeasure with management. Many have also assumed that he would walk out of Sacramento in free agency. At least for now, that does not appear to be a likely case, with new head coach Dave Joerger as a notable cause:
Asked DeMarcus Cousins last night about some of the positive things about his new head coach:
“I like him and he likes me.”— Brett Pollakoff (@BrettEP) October 27, 2016
After public and private feuds with George Karl, Joerger must be a breath of fresh air for the young center. The last time DeMarcus Cousins had a head coach whom he got along with (Mike Malone), the Kings started off the season hot before their star center went out with sickness. Perhaps they can replicate that success with Joerger.
