I enjoy watching DeMar DeRozan. His athleticism is sky high, he’s one of the best cutters in the league. But like Dwyane Wade he has never bothered to develop a 3-Point shot. DWade is my boy but sometimes I just bash my head against the wall when he has acres of space and then dips into the paint. It’s aggravating but he’s a future Hall Of Famer nevertheless.
DeMar DeRozan however, has not done enough to be anywhere near a Hall Of Fame candidate. I’m not saying it’s strictly because he hasn’t developed a three-point shot but individually it is good to have in your back pocket. And as it turns out, he’s finally been developing one.
“(NBA three-point leader) Kyle Korver told me the three-point shot is just more repetition. The more you shoot it, the better you’ll get at it. I feel like if DeMar will keep working on it, it will eventually come,” Carroll said…
“I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of other things he worked on in his game and he’s a dominant offensive player (already),” Carroll said. “So I think if he adds that three-point to his game it’ll take us over the top.”
The Raptors continue to look good on paper, and I emphasise ‘on paper’. I don’t know what it is but when I see them in the Playoffs, I always question whether they can actually pull it off and make moves in the Playoffs. Maybe a DeRozan three here and there will help, who knows.
