The Toronto Raptors are quite possibly the saddest team that has advanced to the second round.DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry seem cursed once the clock strikes midnight the night before the playoffs. They become totally unrecognizable to their regular season selves. Both shooting much worse than in the regular season, they have been popped by the Cavaliers in the second round so far. Losing both of their games against them in dispiriting fashion.
This is nothing new. The King has made the Raptors look like lizards for a few years now. Toronto has attempted to find players who can stop him with guys like Demarre Carroll and PJ Tucker, but nothing has worked so far. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, DeRozan is now offering anyone money to find someone who can stop LeBron James.
“If you can find somebody to stop LeBron in these moments, I’ll give you $100”
The Raptors down 2-0 in the series will now head back to Toronto, hoping to steal a few games like they did last postseason. In the meantime, DeRozan is not looking forward to waiting around.
“It sucks. It sucks. To lose like we did and play like I did sucks. It’s frustrating,” DeRozan said. “Now just have the idle time of having to wait until Friday night [Game 3] to redeem yourself.”
