The Atlanta Hawks will be without starting guard Dejounte Murray for about two weeks due to an ankle sprain. With injuries piling up, Atlanta is dealing with some lineup problems and this will compound those issues. Murray joins John Collins and De’Andre Hunter as players on the Atlanta Hawks roster currently dealing with injuries. This is Murray’s first season with the team after they traded for him from the San Antonio Spurs in the offseason. The Hawks are about in the position they were expected to be in at this point, but the injuries could prove to change that over the next few games.
Hawks All-Star Dejounte Murray is expected to miss two weeks with a left ankle sprain, sources tell me and @sam_amick. Atlanta now has Murray, John Collins (ankle) and De’Andre Hunter (hip) sidelined.

So far in his first season with the Atlanta Hawks, Dejounte Murray is averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He has paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 45.2 percent and a three-point percentage of 36.6 percent on the season. His fit with the Atlanta Hawks has been good thus far and these two weeks without him could prove difficult for the team.
The Atlanta Hawks are currently sitting at 5th in the Eastern Conference standings with an overall record of 13-12. With the teams above and below them all having similar records every game counts right now. Missing Dejounte Murray for two weeks could see the team drop some in the standings in that time.
