The Brooklyn Nets aren’t off to the start that they were hoping for. After the first month of the season, their record is a respectable 6-9 which is good enough for the eight seed in the Eastern Conference.
While November was tough for the Nets, December won’t be any easier. This past month, the Nets played teams with a combined winning percentage of .451 which was the fourth easiest schedule in the league.
December could cause problems for Brooklyn as 10 of their 16 opponents this month have a record over .500. They have five sets of back-to-back games, which for an aging team with injury problems, could cause issues.
Not only do they have to play the Bulls and Cavs twice during the month, they have a four game stretch where they will face the Spurs, Bulls, Cavs, and Hawks.
Then the month will finally close out with games against the Heat, Cavs, and Raptors in a four-day stretch.
The Nets season is not a lost cause yet, and there’s no need to have a finger on the panic button. Last years team proved that the season isn’t defined during the first two months and that it’s not too late to turn things around.
This team though isn’t last years team. There’s a new coach, a new system, and a slighty new rotation. So the question remains, “can this team repeat last years team’s success?
