The Cleveland Cavaliers have ruled out power forward Dean Wade for the rest of the season after having surgery to repair an injury in his right knee. His surgery was successful and the meniscus in his right knee should heal. Injury problems have hampered the Cleveland Cavaliers season and a fast start has since cooled down considerably. Wade is a rotation player for the Cavaliers and his production on both sides of the ball will be missed on the team.

Injuries this time of year are always unfortunate and even more so for teams that hope to or will make the NBA Playoffs. This season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dean Wade was averaging 5.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. His defensive spark coming off the bench fit the team’s culture well and leaves a hole on an already injured roster. Currently, the Cleveland Cavaliers are seventh in the Eastern Conference Standings with a 41-33 record. They are 2.5 games ahead of the eighth seed and one game behind the sixth seed.
#Cavs say Dean Wade underwent successful surgery today to treat his right knee (meniscus) and he’ll miss the remainder of the season.
Team also states Rajon Rondo (right ankle sprain) and Jarrett Allen (left finger fracture) “remain out.”

Dean Wade has had some injury problems dating back to his college years with the Kansas State Wildcats. The focus now for him will be to rest and properly recover from this injury. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Wade the best in his recovery and return to the basketball court.
