With so much superhero craze surrounding us, it’s no question that one of the most anticipated releases will be 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool. Set to be an R-rated film, which is an unprecedented standard for this kind of genre, Ryan Reynolds will star the impulsive, inappropriate, flippantly violent and controversial hero.
Empire magazine has released new photos from the Deadpool movie, showing a few live action shots of the hero in costume as well as out of costume. Reynolds made an adamant point to Empire that this character would not be tied to the premature portrayal in the X-Men origins film:
“The mouth is not sewn shut at any point in this film. I wasn’t even paid, I just insisted on that.”
It was in the Wolverine origin film that Reynolds played a character named Wade Wilson, also known as the real name of Deadpool. In that film his character never took full form. His mouth ended up glued shut and he was deemed to be called “Weapon X”.
Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller and co-stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, and Gina Carano. Check out the images below.
