Another day, another track was released in the ongoing New York-Los Angeles back-and-forth, ignited by Joey Bada$$.
On Monday, 19, 2025, Daylyt dropped “WRD2MIMVA,” his latest response to the Brooklyn-born MC. Rapping over his flip of Jay-Z’s “Hovi Baby,” Daylyt wastes no time addressing his opponent in the ongoing friendly fade.
“I’ll sit back and watch you disrespect what we built/You popped and then skirted now expect to be killed/They think you’re going nuts, so it’s cool vas?ctomy dealt,” he opens the first verse.
In the track’s second verse, Daylyt continues to jab at the 1999 artist by replying to several of the claims he felt Joey Bada$$ made throughout his “Red Bull Spiral Freestyle” verse and “The Finals.” More specifically, Daylty clapped back at Joey Bada$$’s comments about his commercial viability and desire to spar with Kendrick Lamar.
“The issue is, Dot didn’t tell you it’s two boogeymen/The big three could attest to all the things that I’ve done/You said I’m zero, oh, that’s cool
I still come in front of the one,” Daylyt raps.
Ultimately, the legendary battle rapper and skilled MC ends the response by issuing an ominous warning to Joey Bada$$.
“Oh, this crown, I was owed longer than Morgan Freeman/For this reason, you could not f—k with this Watts bravado/You know how this gon’ turn out, Joe Pesci my motto,” he raps.
“WRD2MIMVA” is the third in a growing set of tracks Daylyt has aimed at Joey Bada$$ since the New York native released “The Ruler’s Back” on New Year’s Day, sparking a lyrical back-and-forth between Los Angeles and New York.
