Dawn Richard is one of many examples that hard work pays off. With the final demise of Danity Kane, the singer picked up as if she never left and went on to release her latest studio album, Blackheart. With a uniqueness to her sound, from the outside, many would not expect the New Orleans-born singer to blend various elements and create some of Dance/Electronic music’s best records in recent years. Closing the door on her previous chapter, Ms. Richard is ready to start anew with the premiere of her new single, ‘Dance,’ which was crafted with help of Noisecastle III, Swagg R’Celious, and Esther Dean.
‘Dance’ is a melting pot of vibes and sounds. The records fuses the hard-hitting elements of Hip-Hop mixed with aspects of Dance music that is most prevalent during the record’s chorus and bridge. The record ends with a tribal feel that brings everything together perfectly. ‘Dance’ not only displays creativity, but it also hosts a different side of Dawn that we haven’t seen much of yet. The single serves as the first offering from her upcoming album, The Red Era, and if her previous visuals and campaigns are anything to go by, we’re in for an exciting ride. Take a moment to let loose, below.
