David West has made just under $90 Million over his 12 Year NBA career. That’s a decent bank account right there, for people that aren’t blessed to play professional sports and rack up all that kind of cash, we look at David West ditching $11 Million and go “What are you doing!?”
We’ll in this particular case, David West is near the end of his career and he does not own a championship ring, and because he’s racked up just under $90 Million, I guess he can afford to leave $11 Million on the table. He’d rather win games than stack cash right now.
“At this point, I just want to win games. I feel like I’m in a position to where I had a choice to make. I just chose to give myself a chance to win. The Spurs have an unbelievable culture. I just want an opportunity to be in that system and experience it and see what comes of it.”
“Ultimately just knowing who they are, competing against them for the years I was in New Orleans, developing an appreciation for what they do from afar. Naturally it was just one of those places that was always in my mind as a place I could potentially play.”
I can’t believe the Spurs are this stacked. It’s so frustrating because I hate the Spurs. But for West, he made the right choice. Have you seen Indiana lately?
