Indiana Pacers are barely staying afloat out in the East and at 6-8 their record is good enough to, for the moment, have them be the #8 seed in the East. As of their last game against the Dallas Mavericks, which was a victory in Dallas, None of the starting 5 from last years Eastern Conference Finals starting 5 was an active member on the team. “(Coach Frank Vogel) will make the call,” West said after participating in practice Tuesday in San Antonio. “I’ll see what he says. (But) I feel good. This last week has been good. No setbacks. The ankle is healthy which is important.” …
“We’ve exhausted all options in terms of getting it healthy. It was a bad sprain,” West said. “I got really lucky that it just did what it did and didn’t go any further. I got really lucky.”
George Hill, Lance Stephenson, Paul George, David West, Roy Hibbert. Once, arguably, the best starting 5 in the East is no more. But the return of West will be pivotal to the Pacers return to any type of playoffs this season.
