Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson is nearing a full recovery from the injury he suffered during the Cardinals week 17 win against the Los Angeles Rams. In what was already a disappointing year for the organization, to make matters worse MRI’s showed that the back had suffered a left MCL sprain that would require 6-8 weeks of rehabilitation.

Johnson spoke to reporters on Monday regarding his rehabilitation thus far.
It felt strong even in walking,” he said. “I think I was just scared at first, the initial contact. But after I calmed down a little bit, got in the locker room, I was fine.”
“The knee is great,” he said I’ve got full range of motion. I’m just trying to get the strength back now.” Johnson told NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano. He believes that he could play in a game right now “I would say 90 percent for sure,”.
Johnson was on the verge of going to what would have been his first career Pro Bowl. He finished the season with 293 carries, 1,293 rushing yards, and 16 rushing touchdowns. The back is also a very dangerous receiving threat as he accumulated 879 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. Johnson is the seventh player in NFL history to lead the league in yards from scrimmage and touchdowns. In just his 2nd year in the NFL, Johnson has proved to be one of the elites among the dual-threat backs league wide.
The back suggested that he would be ready for the OTA’s and the camp when teams report back to the playing field in May. With Larry Fitzgerald announcing that he will return for the 2017 season, the Cardinals have the potential of being a really scary team come the regular season.
