Stranger Things makes its long-awaited return this summer and Netflix has been unsurprisingly tight-lipped about it. Other than a few teasers
and one longer trailer, we don’t know much about what to expect from this season. (Well, except the fact that New Coke is set to appear but, I doubt that’ll have much bearing on the overall plot.) Things star David Harbour recently opened up about the season though while speaking at MCM Comic-Con. Hopper plays Chief Hopper in the series who, after the events of season 2, became the adopted father to Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven.
“[Eleven] is growing up and I think that’s the terrifying thing for Hopper,” said Harbour, as quoted in Digital Spy. “He doesn’t like the idea of his baby daughter hanging out with boys. So, the season starts with him a little bit uncomfortable. His daughter is becoming a teenager and beginning to find herself, so that’s scarier for Hopper than any Demogorgon creature that he’s going to have to deal with.
Harbour continued, opening up the door on the season just a crack. “You get to see a lot of that throughout the season and it’s very unexpected what happens in the end and it’s very, very moving. I think episode eight is the most moving thing we’ve ever shot.”
Considering some of the heart-breaking and moving things we’ve already seen in the first two seasons, that’s a pretty high bar. I expect they’ll deliver though so July 4th can’t get here soon enough. Until it does, check out this trailer for Stranger Things 3 :
Stranger Things season 3 hits Netflix on July 4th.
