David Harbour is officially joining the MCU, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Harbour is set to join star Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Black Widow solo film. Florence Pugh was previously announced to appear in the film as well.
Plot details have been kept unsurprisingly under wraps but the film is expected to show Natasha Romanoff’s life before joining Shield and the Avengers. Details on specific characters are also being kept under wraps, likely until after Endgame. Australian director Cate Shortland is being tapped to direct. Jac Schaffer is writing the script for the film, which is set to begin production in June.
Harbour has already put together a respectable career, appearing in the Law & Order franchise as well as having memorable turns in both The Equalizer and End of Watch. Recently, he has gained a massive following as a regular on the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. He is also starring in the Hellboy reboot, set to hit theaters later this month.
Black Widow has yet to receive an official release date.
