The Cleveland Cavaliers are on point. More on point than they ever were with David Blatt as head coach. We knew they were capable of being this dominant, we saw glimpses of it last year when they were going through the Playoffs, before the NBA Finals and of course the injuries that’ll give everybody a reason to play hypotheticals.
A definite reason for this amazing run they’re on is because of Tyronn Lue. The players respect him and he’s even putting LeBron James in check, something we’ve rarely seen. David Blatt has been watching the Cavs from afar and honestly has no hard feelings, he’s glad the Cavs are prospering.
“I think they’re playing great,” Blatt told ESPN.com on Saturday, shortly before theToronto Raptors beat the Cavs 99-84 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals. “I think that the players and the coaching staff are doing a terrific job, I really do. And I think the fact that they are healthy and have actually even added a piece or two makes them the team to beat right now, in my opinion. That’s really all I want to say.”
“I’m very supportive of Ty, as I am of all of the coaching staff,” Blatt told ESPN.com. “I had a great relationship with those guys, and I value them, and I want to see them all do well.”
Even though the Cavaliers’ chemistry was rubbish during Blatt’s reign, (not entirely his fault) the fact that they still made the Finals confirms that David Blatt is a good coach. I’m glad he has no hard feelings, because he is a coaching God in Europe and a team in Cleveland of all sports locations can’t tell him otherwise.
