Dave East, Harlem’s own, is set to release this album ‘Kairi Chanel’. The highly anticipated project is to feature the likes of Cam’ron, 2 Chainz, Fabolous and more. With the storyline driven single ‘Keisha’ making waves and his radio hit ‘All Summer’, East is in a great place. While it may be hard to follow up what he did on ‘Hate Me Now’, fans alike are ready. New York City is in a great place musically and it appears so is Dave.
In typical fashion for an artist who is about to drop a project, he stopped by Power 105 to chop it up with The Breakfast Club to talk. Prior to really getting into the interview, the news broke on air that he has inked a deal with Def Jam!
Congratulations to that man for further bettering his situation. While Mass Appeal and Nas is still family, Nas is slated to executive produce his upcoming album but he is now a partner with Def Jam. In the interview which you’ll be able to see below he spoke on why he made the move. It was powered by the fact he needs that machine behind him that will get him further than where he wants to be and out of New York is one of them.
As most of if not all New Yorkers know, Dave is the real deal and deserves to have his voice and sound heard further than just the 5 boroughs, so I respect the move. Get money my brother!
