Comedy fans rejoice! The return is finally upon us.
Legendary comedian Dave Chappelle, best known for his hit Comedy Central program “Chappelle Show”, is set to return to television. No, he’s not coming back with his own television show but instead he’s going to host a staple of late night television.
For the first time ever Chappelle will host SNL on November 12th, NBC announced on Friday. His musical guest will be A Tribe Called Quest. The group recently announced that they would be coming out with an album soon. It will be their first major project since the passing of Phife Dawg earlier this year.

It’s a particularly big show not only because it’s Chappelle’s first time hosting SNL and also A Tribe Called Quest’s first major performance since Phife’s death but there’s also a presidential election next week. It will be the first episode after the election and Saturday Night Live is well known for making the most out of the current political state in America.
This potentially could be a big win for SNL this season. Their current cast is one of the weakest in recent memory but with Alec Baldwin playing Donald Trump in a recurring role and now with Chappelle set to host with A Tribe Called Quest as musical guests, it could save the weak start to this season.
