The New York Jets will be without linebacker Darron Lee for the remainder of the regular season. The NFL has suspended Lee for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substance of Abuse. The Jets announced the suspension and released a statement by an NFL spokesperson earlier today.

The Ohio State product was drafted by the Jets in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2016 draft. Lee has started all 13 games for the Jets this season and was leading the team in interceptions. His suspension is not going to make much of a difference in the success of a 3-9 Jets team that has no chance at making the playoffs at this point of their season. The suspension does cause concern about his dependence on the substances that got him in this predicament. The Jets will have to keep an eye on their young linebacker as they get ready for next season.
