By now, almost all the teams have their roster set for the upcoming season but the New Orleans Pelicans received some bad news. The team announced on Thursday that Darius Miller underwent surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon. Dr. Martin O’Malley, in consultation with Pelicans Orthopedist Misty Suri, performed the surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Miller started his career in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans (Hornets back then) when he was selected in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. He played for three seasons and then went to play in Europe with the Brose Bamberg from Germany.
He would return to the Pelicans in 2017 and, in this year offseason, he signed a 2-year and $14 Million deal to stay in the team. In this past season, Miller played in 69 games, starting in 15 of them, and averaged 8.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25.5 minutes per game.
