There is a certain type of player you want to have on your roster. His name is Danny Green. A lethal perimeter shooter mixed with a pesky defender, and someone who has enough experience to help any other team, is an asset that you MUST have on your team or wish you have. The Spurs see Danny Green as an essential part to their success. The Spurs have completely rejuvenated Green’s career. In Cleveland, he wasn’t that successful, but once in San Antonio, he implemented himself in the system and absorbed thing’s like a sponge. Thanks to the Spurs, Danny Green is in the position to ask for a 4-year $45 million deal and be a BARGAIN.
Now he’s taking even less money.
According to Eric Pincus:
Danny Green’s deal with the San Antonio Spurs is $10 mil flat each season, 4 years, last a player option @BBallInsiders

It makes sense. In order for them to re-sign Duncan and Ginobli and also add LaMarcus Aldridge, it would be tough for the Spurs to not hit a luxury mark. With Green taking a deal that is worth $10 million flat, he is saving the Spurs $5 million in money they can use to find a back-up Center.
