Danny Granger is on his way out of the NBA. Ever since he caught the injury bug in 2011, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy long enough to play enough games to give him the hope of staying with another team. Either way, the Pacers decided to pay him a lot of money and give him a long contract, so now the Suns will have to pay for that.
According to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders:
Update from the air – two opt-ins – Danny Granger w/Phoenix Suns and Gerald Henderson with Charlotte Hornets @BBallInsiders – carry on

I believe the Suns have bigger fish to fry then Danny Granger opting into his contract. He will get paid $2.1 million dollars, which will be $2.1 million dollars higher then any other team would probably sign him for. The Suns may try to still trade the contract to a team in order to have more room to sign some free agents that may be attracted to the young backcourt of the Suns. They have already been rumored to target free agents like LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, and Brook Lopez.
