Since the last film in the Bond franchise, Spectre, was released in 2015 there have been a lot of questions surrounding the next film. With Daniel Craig confirmed to return as Bond, today a lot of those questions were cleared up as Danny Boyle has been attached to direct. This story was first broke by The Daily Mail‘s Baz Bamigboye on Twitter.
Nothing is set in stone yet as Boyle will first direct All You Need is Love, a musical based on the Beatles’ music. Then, Boyle must approve the script of the untitled Bond film before signing on to direct, which would then begin production later this year.
Boyle directed Trainspotting and its sequel from last year, and 127 Hours but is best known for directing the 2008 Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. So, he is certainly capable of righting the ship after Bond’s disappointing outing in 2015’s Spectre.
Unfortunately, questions still surround the production of the next Bond film as the script has yet to be written but hopefully with Boyle attached the film can begin to get off the ground and begin production later this year.
