Danny Ainge is good when it comes to his players. He knows their needs, he takes good care of them. And also to his head coach Brad Stevens. The Celtics are a half decent team. Yes they’re tanking but you can actually see a plan unlike the Lakers and now Philadelphia after they gave away Michael Carter-Williams and KJ McDaniels for a three magic beans (Draft picks). But for the near future they’re screwed because their main man Jared Sullinger is done for the season. Well that may be a good thing. They are tanking after all.
But according to Boston.com, Jared Sullinger has issues with conditioning.
“Jared and I have talked a lot about [his conditioning] over the past year,” Ainge said. “It’s something we take great pride in with our players. Our players have really bought in to our program and a lot of guys – I think every guy has met the goals that they have set in regards to strength and conditioning, and body-fat, and weight, and all the different things our strength coaches do on a regular basis. Jared just hasn’t met his goals.
“He’s not up to the standards that he wants, and is not up to the standards that we think are in his best interests for the long-term health of his career. He’s not up to par to the standards that we feel are necessary to be a consistent winning player and play with great conditioning.“
Now this is something that I highly important. Having poor conditioning is always to the detriment of the player. They have to put it in overdrive. Because not being up to par is unacceptable.
