After spraining his right ankle on Friday night against the Mavericks, Danilo Gallinari left the game and would not return. According to Davide Chinellato of La Gazzetta dello Sport, a publication out of Gallo’s home country of Italy, Gallinari expects to miss up to a month with the injury:

Gallinari missed six games in December with an ankle injury. The X-rays were negative on this right ankle injury, but Gallinari said that this sprain is worse than the one suffered two months ago.
Gallinari leads the Nuggets in scoring with 19.7 points per game. They are currently about five games out of the eighth seed in the Western Conference, right in the mix with Sacramento, New Orleans, and Utah. The timetable for Gallinari’s return could easily leave him out for the remainder of the regular season, which assumedly dampens any hopes of a postseason appearance for Denver (23-36).
