Daniel Franzese has revealed behind the scenes of the now cult-classic, Mean Girls.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the actor best known for his role as Damien talked about James Franco almost being cast to star and his co-star, Lindsay Lohan.
Franzese dished that James Franco was considered for the role of the character of Aaron Samuels, which was eventually played by Jonathan Bennett.
“I thought that was so cool – Bennett was great but that would’ve been cool.”
During filming, Franzese was 26 years old and mentioned that he and Lindsey, who was 17 at the time, actually got a long.
“Lindsay and I get along way better now as adults than we did when she was a kid; back then I just felt like, ‘Oh here’s this kid,’ you know?
“I actually didn’t know who she was – to me she wasn’t really on the grid yet, except for that whole Aaron Carter thing.”
While Franzese didn’t spend a lot of time with Lohan, the actor says that he clicked best with Lizzy Caplan, who played his on-screen best friend, Janis Ian.
“Definitely Lizzy and I were a clique – there’s no question about that. We were always laughing, always in each other’s trailers, always in each other’s hotel rooms. Inseparable, really.”
Mean Girls will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary, April 30.
