Ohio State freshman D’Angelo Russell is a very talented player. Russell lit up the college ball world this year, averaging 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game while shooting a scorching 41.1% from deep.
Should he declare, Russell projects to be a top-5 pick in the NBA draft this June. According to the Twitter page of RealGM’s Shams Charania, Russell plans on going pro this year.

If this is true, and D’Angelo Russell enters the draft, whichever NBA team winds up drafting him should consider themselves lucky. While he isn’t as highly sought after as fellow freshmen Karl-Anthony Towns and Jahlil Okafor, Russell is a 6’5″ combo guard who is an excellent playmaker, and can also handle and shoot the ball.
It would be advisable for Russell to gain some weight, as his 180-pound frame would suggest that he will need to put on more muscle if he wants to hold his own in the NBA. Overall though, he is a very complete player, and if he hits the gym and puts on some weight, he should be fairly NBA ready right off the bat.
