The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a somewhat hot start to get the year going. If the playoffs started right now, the Lake show would be the seventh seed and would be squaring off with the Golden State Warriors. But despite their success, the Lakers are have been fighting recently without their star guard D’Angelo Russell. He suffered a knee injury and now he will be missing extended time.
Russell last played in the Lakers loss over the weekend against the Chicago Bulls but he’s missed two of the Lakers last three games. Last night he was out but the Lakers pulled off a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder with some late game heroics courtesy of Nick Young aka Swaggy P. The Lakers might need some more of Swaggy’s skills if they want to survive without Russell heading into the holiday season. D’Angelo will miss 2-3 weeks after received a PRP treatment due to a knee issue.
Following from an official Lakers press release.
Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell received a PRP injection in his left knee today, it was announced by the team. The procedure was performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Steve Yoon. Russell is expected to be out a minimum of two weeks, and will be re-evaluated in one week.
Russell is currently averaging 16.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 13 games this season.
