After a rookie season that saw the Ohio State product show flashes of superstar potential, the sophomore campaign of Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell was a disappointing one. It wasn’t the Lakers pedestrian 26-56 record that was discouraging, the Lakers weren’t expected to be a threat in the Western Conference anyway coming into the year. Instead, it was more so the game of Russell, who was expected to make much bigger strides in his game than what we witnessed and was labeled a Lakers franchise centerpiece from the guard spot for years to come.
With all these massive expectations that come with playing for the Lakers and playing under the big lights of Los Angeles in front of star studded crowds on a nightly basis, Russell has already had himself plenty of endorsement deals and commercial contracts.
Now after the conclusion of his second season in the NBA, the lefty floor general finds himself in another advertisement, this time with Gatorade promoting their new ‘Flow’ edition of the sports drink.
In the ad, Gatorade emphasizes the ‘smooth finish’ of Russell relating it to their new product. You can watch the advertisement below, video courtesy of Gatorade:
