Shawn Levy has been replaced by ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Dan Trachtenberg to direct the upcoming Sony video-game adaptation ‘Uncharted’. Levy had to back out from the film due to scheduling conflicts.
The video-game is about Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter, kind of like Indiana Jones that tries to save dangerous treasures from the wrong hands. Tom Holland is set to star in the film and chronicles Drake’s first encounter with the professional rogue Sullivan. While Sully hasn’t been casted yet, it is clear that Sony wants to go with a younger Nathan Drake compared to the older man you see in the video games.
There is no release date or production schedule as of late but that is because of Holland and his role as Spider-Man in the upcoming ‘Far From Home’ sequel. Regardless, there are 4 uncharted games, which gives more than enough content for director Dan Tracthenberg to work with.
