Anthony Davis fell hard recently on his shoulder in a game against the Chicago Bulls and as soon as he did, the entire New Orleans Pelicans fan base stood still in disbelief as they saw their playoff hopes flash before their eyes.
It seems like to literally add insult to Davis’ injury, there is some bad news for Pelicans nation as their star will not be playing in the NBA All-Star game due to his shoulder injury.
Now it seems like the injury replacement for Davis, according to reports, will be Mark Cuban’s dream come true.
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki will be attending his 13th NBA All-Star Game in New York City.
Following from ESPN Dallas’ Tim MacMahon.
Source: Dirk will be named to All-Star team to replace Anthony Davis. It's the 13th selection of his career.

Truth be told, Dirk was really looking forward to a full week off.

Dirk woulda loved week off, but as Carlisle said: "This is one of the responsibilities that comes with greatness, and he understands that."

Now with Dirk now attending that means the option for the starter is out there. The obvious choice for Western Conference All-star head coach Steve Kerr would be his former teammate, Tim Duncan. There’s also LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMarcus Cousins and now Dirk Nowtizki.
Congratulations to Dirk and the Dallas Mavericks.
