Dallas Adjusts For 112-93 Game 2 Victory Over Sloppy Spurs; Series Tied 1-1
The Dallas Mavericks snapped a 10-game losing streak to the San Antonio Spurs with a 112-93 Game 2 victory on Wednesday night. Monta Ellis (21 points) and Shawn Marion (20 points) paced the Mavericks offensively, along with Devin Harris’ 18 points off the bench. Manu Ginobili finished with 27 points off the bench for San Antonio.
The Spurs, for whatever reason, didn’t seem prepared to play, committing 15 first half turnovers and finishing with 22 on the game to Dallas’ mere 7. Every stat in this game favored the Mavericks. Dallas had 92 shot attempts on the game to just 64 for San Antonio. The Mavericks won the rebounding battle (35-32) scored more points in the paint (44-28) and had their bench outscore the signature reserves for San Antonio 51-40.
Anyone not named Parker, Duncan, or Ginobili have shot a combined 24-72 (33%) so far in this series.
We are mixing things up a lot and doing a lot of things we really don’t want to do because they are such a potent team. It is a monumental task. – Dallas coach Rick Carlisle
Game 3 at Dallas will be this Saturday at 4:30PM EST
