
Memphis Grizzlies 88, Toronto Raptors 82
Rudy Gay played against his former team for the first time since traded, but he didn’t performed like he hoped. Gay scored 13 points, missing 1o out of his 15 attempts from the floor.
Alan Anderson was on fire, scoring 15 of his 19 points in the 4th quarter and that wasn’t enough. Mike Conley scored 19 points and Zach Randolph added 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who has won five games in a row.
Detroit Pistons 105, Charlotte Bobcats 99
Greg Monroe scored 10 of his 17 points in the final quarter and Jose Calderon clinched the win with a pair of free throws. Before Monroe could dominate, it was Brandon Knight’s 21 points that kept the Pistons in the game. Kemba Walker led the Bobcats with 24 points.
Indiana Pacers 125, New York Knicks 91
Indiana shot 61 percent in the 1st quarter and led by 12. Then they scored 44 points in the 2nd quarter and had a 30 point lead going into the break. The Knicks shot 33% from the field and were never in the game.
Paul George led the Pacers with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Tyson Chandler had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Knicks, who have lost three games in a row.
Cleveland Cavaliers 105, New Orleans Hornets 100
Irving scored 20 of his 35 points in the 4th quarter and rookie Dion Waiters added 16 points and 3 assists to stopped the Cavs losing streak at three. Irving was impressive in the 4th, scoring three pointers, driving to the hoop, hitting step back jumpers. Rookie Anthony Davis had 12 points and 4 boards for the Hornets.
Miami Heat 103, Atlanta Hawks 90
Miami’s 13-0 run at the start of the 4th quarter was enough to forget the ten point Hawk lead. The Heat outscored Atlanta 40-17 in the last 12 minutes, and it was Shane Battier and Ray Allen that led them the comeback combining for 24 points. Miami’s on an eight game losing streak.
Brooklyn Nets 97, Milwaukee Bucks 94
Deron Williams was the hero and almost threw his performance away. Williams fouled Monta Ellis on a three pointer with 3 seconds left with the Nets leading by that amount. Ellis missed all three free throws and the Nets survived to win the second straight game in as many nights against the Bucks. Brandon Jennings had 31 points and 11 assists for Milwaukee.
Houston Rockets 112, Oklahoma City Thunder 109
Houston was ahead by three when Kevin Durant, who finished with his second triple double of his career, shot a long long three pointer that didn’t go down. the Rockets grabbed the rebound and hit two free throws to put the game away.
James Harden led the Rockets, who were losing by 11 with 7 minutes to go in the g ame, with a career high 46 points, making 14-19 Field goals including seven of eight from three.
Minnesota Timberwolves 94, Philadelphia 76ers 87
The Timberwolves were awful, making one field goal in the last 12 minutes of the game, worse yet, the Sixers couldn’t take advantage. Nikola Pekovic led Minny with 27 points and 18 rebounds. The Sixers fouled the Wolves many times in the last quarter, letting them scored 16 points from the charity stripe.
Dallas Mavericks 111, Orlando Magic 96
Vince Carter, former member of the Orlando Magic, was instrumental for the Mavs. “Vinsanity” sparked a Mavs run by hitting a three pointer and dishing out 3 assists in the 4th quarter, outscoring Orlando 28-14.
Los Angeles Lakers 113, Boston Celtics 99
In their first game without the owner Jerry Buss, the Lakers looked like a team. Seven players were on double figures, led by Dwight Howard who had 24 points and 12 boards. L.A outrebounded Boston by 24 and made more than 50% of their shots. Paul Pierce had 26 points for the Celtics.
Golden State Warriors 108, Phoenix Suns 98
The Warriors, who were on a six game losing streak, won their first game since February 2nd. Golden State started red hot making 14 of their first 19 shots from the field. Klay Thompson, who scored 28 points, led them by starting six for six, giving the Warriors a ten point lead after one. The Suns came multiple times and even cut the lead down to one, but never took the lead. David Lee had a double double with 19 points and 11 boards.
