The Clippers bench outscored the Knicks 48-15 led by former Knick Jamal Crawoford who had 27. Chris Paul had 26 points and 7 assists in his 2nd game back from injury. Carmelo Anthony scored 42 points but was held to two attempts in the final 12 minutes due to Grant Hill’s excellent defense.
Miami Heat 97, Los Angeles Lakers 87
Lebron James scored 32 points & Dwyane Wade 30 for the Heat, who didn’t played their best game, to take care of the Lakers. James bacame the third player in NBA history to achieve five straight games with more than 30 points while shooting better than 60% from the field. Kobe Bryant had 28 points and 9 assists, but Dwight Howard had just 15.
Boston Celtics 118, Denver Nuggets 114 (3 OT)
The Celtics kept their winning streak alive while stopping Denver’s 9th game winning streak in the process. Paul Pierce had a triple double with 27 Points, 14 Rebounds and 14 Ast. Jason’s Terry’s three pointer put Boston up for good in triple ot. Ty Lawson finished with 29 points for Denver.
Toronto Raptors 102, New Orleans Hornets 89
Raptors backup point guard John Lucas scored 10 of his 19 points in the 4th quarter, Rudy Gay added 20 and Toronto took care of the Hornets. Robin Lopez had 19 for the Hornets.
Orlando Magic 110, Portland TrailBlazers 104
The Magic beat the Blazers and it took effort from many different players. JJ Redick led Orlando in scoring with 22 points, Jameer Nelson had 15 assists while Gustavo Ayon and Nikola Vucecic each had double doubles. Lamarcus Aldridge contributed for 25 points for Portland.
Memphis Grizzlies 105, Minnesota Timberwolves 88
Newly acquisition Tayshaun Prince was perfect from the field with 8-8 for 18 points and Minny was no match for the Grizzlies. Wolves have lost 15 of their last 17 games.
San Antonio Spurs 111, Brooklyn Nets 86
Tony Parker scored 29 points and 11 points for the Spurs, who didn’t need Tim Duncan or Manu Ginobili, both were out with injuries for the 3rd and 4th consecutive games respectively.
Oklahoma City Thunder 97, Phoenix Suns 69
Suns proved to be no match for OKC, who has defeated the Suns in back two back games. Kevin Durant didn’t even reached 20 points and OKC won easily. Russell Westbrook added 24 points and 6 assists.
Sacramento Kings 117, Houston Rockets 111
With Houston up two at the start of the 4th quarter, they saw the Kings backup guard Isaiah Thomas exploding for 17 points and Sacramento upset them even though James Harden had 30 points for the Rockets.
