DaBaby has released the video for what will likely be the intro of his next project. Coming off a summer dominated by “Suge” and “Cash Sh*t” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby’s newest track is a bit more introspective. Throughout the new record, the North Carolina native discusses the feeling of losing his father, helping his friends start businesses and much more.
He raps, “I’m just somewhere f*cked up thinkin’ ’bout my father and sh*t/They found him dead a couple days before I started tour/Same day I flew back to the city from Miami/I was out there with the family/Just lookin’ at my daughter/Thinkin’ to myself like, Damn, my baby look just like my daddy.”
Earlier this month, the North Carolina rapper mentioned that he would be releasing his debut album, Kirk, this month. Since then, he’s appeared in the “Under The Sun” video with Lute and J. Cole. He’s also noted that his debut album will feature Chance The Rapper, Migos and many more.
While we wait for the release of Kirk, check out the video for “Intro” above.
