The Charlotte-bred rapper took to Twitter to initiate excitement with minimal details. DaBaby simply shared “This Friday” along with both the record emoji and the emoji demanding ‘sssh.’ While he does not specify whether it is a new song, or a completely new project, or even a music video, it would stand as his second fresh release from the “Suge” rapper this year, following “FIND MY WAY” released April 1, 2020.

DaBaby closed out 2019 strong with two strong album releases and a plethora of feature verses with artists such as Chance The Rapper and Moneybagg Yo. He prepared to enter the decade on top listed at the top of multiple festival lineups. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has postponed a handful of events however, DaBaby’s show must go on.
Hopefully, for fans, whatever DaBaby decides to drop, it contains his familiar bop his audience has grown to love.
The charismatic rapper currently faces a lawsuit following an incident in Florida. A woman, Tyronesha Laws, is suing DaBaby after an alleged incident where he hit her across the face. Video footage of the incident went viral on social media shortly after.
